How many people have 300k in savings?
There is no single official count of people with exactly $300,000 saved. Use the Federal Reserve’s Survey of Consumer Finances.

There is no single official count of people with exactly $300,000 saved. The Federal Reserve’s Survey of Consumer Finances reports net worth and financial assets by percentile, on the Fed’s own schedule, not by the round number in a headline.
Open the SCF and read the table for the year of that release. Percentiles move. A blog that says “only X percent have $300,000” is usually mixing retirement accounts, housing and a year it does not name.
$300,000 is not a savings target for every family. In Brazil, public pension and FGTS follow a different system. Those notes are in Portuguese on this site.
